However, if i DID have to make a criticism, it would be on the male characters. The general, Carolyn, and Harris are all fine characters and they all work well. Sam is quite bloodthirsty in this one which caught me a bit by surprise and the doctor has to pull her back quite a few times. There was enough description to know what was going on, but not enough to be annoying.Īs for the actual plot, while i'm not the biggest fan of vampires, but for what it was, i actually had a bit of fun. Jonathan and Kate work well together and it's not one of those double author books where it feels disjointed and it FEELS like there's two separate authors. Cardinia is pure invention, a vaguely Eastern European figment of the author’s imagination. Cardinia? Don’t spend too much time trying to find it on a map. Wolfe was both a literary upstart, sneering at the perceived stuffiness of the publishing establishment, and an old-school gentleman who went to the best schools and encouraged Michael Lewis and other younger writers. An ingenious phrase maker, he helped brand such expressions as “radical chic” for rich liberals’ fascination with revolutionaries and the “Me” generation, defining the self-absorbed baby boomers of the 1970s. His hyperbolic, stylized writing work was a gleeful fusillade of exclamation points, italics and improbable words. Jim Brown, NFL Legend Turned Hollywood Action Hero, Dies at 87 ![]() |
